Whether you’re facing your first surgery or the latest in a series of operations, one of your primary concerns will be the process of being “put to sleep” and cared for while you’re in the operating room. At Greenwood Leflore Hospital, our experienced anesthesia team, including anesthesiologist Dr. Todd Besselievre and our nurse anesthetists, bring years of training and the highest standards of professionalism to the operating room every day. When your surgeon recommends a procedure, you will meet with an anesthesia staff member to discuss any relevant medical issues and prior experiences in surgery. They will address your concerns and explain what to expect at the time of your surgery appointment. When you come to surgery, your anesthesiologist or anesthetist will explain each step and be with you throughout your time in the operating room and the recovery room.
