The medical staff and administration of Greenwood Leflore Hospital extend condolences to the family of Yvonne Tanner, FNP-BC, who passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Ms. Tanner was a native of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Following her graduation from Immaculate Conception School in Clarksdale in 1980, she attended Delta State University, achieving her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1984. Ms. Tanner continued her nursing education, achieving her Master of Science in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 1995.
On June 20, 2011, Ms. Tanner joined the Medical Staff at Greenwood Leflore Hospital as a nurse practitioner in the After Hours Clinic. Since 2013, Ms. Tanner had served as nurse practitioner in the Itta Bena Clinic and she filled in over the years as needed in the After Hours Clinic.
Ms. Tanner will be deeply missed by her colleagues, co-workers and her patients.
