Greenwood Leflore Hospital has a 32-slice CT scanner, which allows better visualization into the body and gives us the power to create 2D and 3D images. Computer tomography angiography (CTA) allows for a less invasive technique for imaging blood vessels in the chest, brain, and body.
Our Radiology Department is equiped with three ultrasound machines, which offer a safe and economical way to visualize body structures without the use of ionizing radiation. At Greenwood Leflore Hospital our highly trained staff use ultrasound to look at everything from gallbladders to carotid arteries to fetal anatomy.
The MRI department at Greenwood Leflore Hospital offers a wide array of imaging services. We specialize in head, spine, joints, extremities and abdominal imaging. We also have the capability to scan blood vessels non-invasively using a technique called magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).
The Greenwood Leflore Hospital nuclear medicine department offers a full range of services such as heart scans for early detection of heart disease, as well as full body bone scans, lung scans, GI bleeding scans, liver and hida scans. We also offer Positron emission tomography (PET) which is the latest technique in detecting the spread of cancer after you have been diagnosed.
Greenwood Leflore Hospital has a Phillips Allura Xper FD20 digital interventional radiography room. The flat panel detector of this new room allows us to better visualize the blood vessels using a 3D rotational spin.
Cardiac Cath Lab:
With the addition of Dr. Thakur, Greenwood Leflore Hospital is able to provide heart catheterization to the community for the detection of serious heart problems.
We provide a full range of digital radiographic (x-rays) studies including emergency radiography, pediatric radiography, GI studies with fluoroscopy, portable radiography as well as routine radiography. We also perform surgical radiography and fluoroscopy, and a Siemens cysto unit used for urology patients.
Women’s Diagnostic Center:
The Greenwood Leflore Hospital women’s diagnostic center is ACR accredited and FDA certified and performs digital screening and diagnostic mammograms with the assistance of computer aided detection (CAD). We also perform stereotactic breast biopsies and wire localizations prior to surgical breast biopsies. In addition to mammography, the women’s diagnostic center also performs DEXA scans which allows for measurement of bone density for the detection of osteoporosis.
