As part of a tour across the Mississippi Delta yesterday, Greenwood Leflore Hospital was honored to host a stakeholder meeting of the United States Department of Agriculture, followed by a tour of the hospital’s COVID Unit and Cancer Center.  During this event, Dr. Jason Studley, CEO of Greenwood Leflore Hospital, welcomed USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack, his team and stakeholders of the USDA; Susan Rice, Director of the United States Domestic Policy Council; Congressman Bennie Thompson, representative for the Mississippi second congressional district; Greenwood’s Senator David Jordan, Mississippi State Senate District 24; Mayor Carolyn McAdams and other local and area government officials; and local stakeholders.   Greenwood Leflore Hospital is grateful to have been granted as part of this initiative one million dollars to help offset expenses, including the huge undertaking required to turn storage rooms in one of the hospital’s wings into intensive care suites to care for COVID patients during the height of the pandemic.
