Hospital receives top accreditation

Greenwood Leflore Hospital has received the highest level of accreditation in continuing medical education, one of only six hospitals in Mississippi to do so.

That means physicians can keep coming there for training classes that count toward the 40 hours they must take every two years.

“Our accredited program provides our medical staff a valuable educational resource in their efforts to provide the very best care possible to our patients,” Hospital Administrator Jim Jackson said in a prepared statement. “In the medical environment that is forever changing, our physicians strive to stay abreast of the current technologies and standards of care.”

The Mississippi State Medical Association surveyed the hospital and honored it for exemplary performance, the hospital said in a press release.

The award reaccredited Greenwood Leflore for six years in continuing medical education.

The hospital commended the efforts of its continuing medical education team, including Dr. Randall White; Annette Irving, director of education; and Sybil Lucic, director of quality management.
